A spectacular wonder of nature for thousands of years. The surreal, brilliant white travertine terraces formed by hardened calcium carbonate sediments over time fed by the rich mineral waters are a must visit on your trip to Turkey. By 190 BC, Pergamum’s King Eumenes II was so seduced by its charms that he established the city of Hieropolos atop the summit of the travertines. The unique combination of natural and man-made wonders has been made this a Unesco World Heritage site
You will be picked up from your hotel in Pamukkale approximately around 09:15am.
After boarding your airconditioned bus, you will hear about some of the history and geology of the area as you make your way to entrance of the site. The travertines, natural formation has been created over time by deposits of calcium carbonate dropped by the flowing water from the natural springs. Walk barefoot on marble white travertine terraces to bathe in the waters of the spring.
After this amazing experience, we visit the ancient Roman city of Hierapolis, Our expert guide will show you around all the most significant structures within the city, including the spectacular theatre capable of seating 15,000 people, the Necropolis and the Thermal Baths.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. There will be time for optional activities such as bathing in the Antik Pool or going into the museum. These are not included in the tour price.
Our tour finishes at 4pm with a return drive to your hotel in Pamukkale.
