Explore the spectacular Cappadocian landscape, created as a result of the volcanic eruptions thousands of years ago and sculptured by erosion. Visit the fascinating large underground cities, built by Christians to escape persecution. Be astonished by the incredible rock hewn churches and byzantine frescoes. Three days is a good way to explore the Cappadocian region in detail with a licensed guide on each day. You can even add on one of the famous optional extra balloon flights to make to your trip more memorable. A must see destination to visit in Turkey. And for those that don't like flying, or who want to experience the way the locals travel, by bus, this tour gives you 3 full days in Cappadocia, giving you time to see the main highlights with a guide for 2 days, as well as some free time to do your own thing.
Oernight bus to Cappadocia. Depart at 9 pm from bus station in Istanbul arrive around 7am in Goreme on Day 2.
Day 2 :
Transfer to your hotel.
Today’s tour includes some wonderful photo view points stops to take all those stunning photos of the beautiful landscape. We then head to Avanos, famous for pottery and the Red river where you will learn about and watch a pottery demonstration. After lunch, you will visit Goreme open air museum, a vast complex containing some of the finest rock hewn churches and frescoes in the region. The last stop will be Uchisar castle, natural and one of the biggest mass fairy chimney’s in the region.. Overnight in Cappadocia.
After breakfast at your hotel we’ll depart for Red valley to explore its famous rock – cut churches and hike 4km through the Red Valley. We’ll visit Cavusin village, famous for its houses and churches of Christian clergymen. After lunch at a local restuarant we’ll drive to Pigeon Valley and we’ll visit the Kaymakli underground city where early Christians lived in fear of invaders. The last stop is Ortahisar castle, biggest mass fairy chimney of Cappadocia. Overnight in Cappadocia
Free Day to relax, wander on your own, talk to the locals or do activties specific to your interests. Ask us for the many options available, from horse back riding to balloons to quad bike riding or maybe more walking through the amazing valleys around Goreme.
Overnight bus back to Istanbul (or another destination if you are exploring Turkey further)
Arrive in Istanbul (or other destination) and tour ends at the bus station.
