Explore the spectacular Cappadocian landscape, created as a result of the volcanic eruptions thousands of years ago and sculptured by erosion. Visit the fascinating large underground cities, built by Christians to escape persecution. Be astonished by the incredible rock hewn churches and byzantine frescoes. Three days is a good way to explore the Cappadocian region in detail with a licensed guide on each day. Day 1 :
We will pick up up at your hotel early in the morning and transfer you to the airport for your flight from Istanbul to Kayseri. Upon arrival we’ll transfer you to your hotel, where you will be picked up for your first days tour.
First stop is Red valley to explore its famous rock – cut churches and hike 4km. We’ll visit Cavusin village, famous for its houses and churches of Christian clergymen. After lunch we’ll drive to Pigeon Valley and we’ll visit the Kaymakli underground city where early Christians lived in fear of invaders. The last stop is Ortahisar castle, biggest mass fairy chimney of Cappadocia. Overnight in Cappadocia.
Day 2 :
After breakfast at your hotel you’ll visit Devrent Imagination Valley to see a few unique fairy-chimneys, and then Pasabag (Monk’s Valley) to see its mushroom-shaped pinnacles. We will continue to the city of Avanos for a pottery demonstration and lunch. After lunch we will visit the Goreme Open Air Museum, the largest concentration of rock-cut churches with their incredible Byzantine frescoes. The last stop will be Uchisar castle, Overnight in Cappadocia.
Day 3 :
Today we venture to Derinkuyu, the eight level underground city, with its low and narrow passage ways carved by the early Christians. From there we will drive to Ihlara Valley,and walk along the river bed (there are around 400 steps down to the valley), On the way back, we visit the monasteries in Selime village. .
At the end of the tour, we’ll transfer you to the airport for your return flight to Istanbul. Upon arrival in Istanbul, we’ll transfer you to your hotel, arriving about 10PM.
