Experience two of Turkey's most famous and remarkable sites. Ephesus was once the fourth largest city in the eastern Roman Empire. This is truly an amazing archaeological site that will be brought alive as your guide takes you through the history, stories and people that once populated this enormous city. Combine this with the surreal, brilliant white travertine terraces at Pamukkale, formed by hardened calcium carbonate of the rich mineral waters and visit the city of Hierapolis established atop the summit of the travertines thousands of years ago and you have 2 days that will remain in your memory for a long time.
Day 1 : Ephesus
We will pick you up from your hotel in Istanbul and transfer you to the airport for your early morning flight to Izmir. Your driver and guide will meet you at the airport and drive you to Ephesus, an important city of the ancient world. You’ll visit the Temple of Artemis (Diana), one of the acient seven wonders of the world, the House of Virgin Mary, where many believe she spent the final years of her life, and Isa Bey Mosque, an impressive mosque from the XIV century AD in Selcuk. Overnight in Selcuk.
Day 2 : Pamukkale
After breakfast at your hotel, you will depart for Pamukkale with your driver and guide for a visit to the travertines. There will be free time should you want to bathe in the antique pool. After lunch in Pamukkale, you’ll visit Hierapolis, the ancient city known for its magnificently preserved Necropolis.
After your tour of Pamukkale, you will be transferred to Denizli airport where you will catch an evening flight back to Istanbul. Upon arrival at the Istanbul airport we will transfer you to your hotel late evening.
