One of the Turkey’s most spectacular wonders of nature has been receiving visitors for thousands of years. The attraction is Pamukkale, known as the “CottonCastle,” formed of hardened calcium carbonate sediments that over time have created a mountainous cascade of white travertine pools, continually fed by mineral rich underground springs. By 190 BC, Pergamum’s King Eumenes II was so seduced by its charms that he established the city of Hieropolos atop the summit of the travertines. We also visit Karahayit known in the past for its rust red hot mineral waters..
We will pick you up at your hotel and transfer you to the airport for your early morning flight to Denizli.
Your guide and driver will meet you at the Denizli airport, and take you to Karahayit to see its Red Spring Waters.
Following this, we drive to Pamukkale to view the travertines formed over time from the natural mineral waters cooling at the surface. You will have the opportunity to walk on a small part of the travertines.
After lunch in a local restaurant, we will visit Hierapolis, including the Necropolis, Roman Baths, the Arch of Domitian, the Latrina, the Oil Factory, Frontinious Street, the Agora, the Byzantium Gate, the Triton Fountain, the Cathedral, the Apollo Temple, the Plutonium, the the magnificent Theatre.
